TBRI Training

CASA is deeply grateful to Lakeland Spectrum Health for generously funding our Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) training and initiative.

This support allows us to equip CASA Volunteers with a strong foundation in TBRI—an approach designed to help you build trust and connection when working with children and families.

We understand that applying TBRI principles can sometimes be challenging in real-life situations. That’s why, thanks to this grant, individual consultations are available to help you navigate specific scenarios and feel more confident in your advocacy.

Resources for TBRI

CASA engaged with professionals at Andrews University Center for International Trauma.
These professionals have been extensively trained in TBRI practices and have hands-on experience applying these interventions both in the home and classroom. During your advocacy you are welcome to contact Andrews directly to ask specific questions about how to best use TBRI with your CASA child/ren. This service should not be used for general information or updated training.  To reach out, please follow the following procedure:

  • Determine what specific “TBRI related” information you may need to help your child–do you need connection strategies, empowering strategies, correcting strategies, etc.
  • Send your specific questions to director@casaswmi.org AND traumacare@andrews.edu. These questions will be confidentially reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate professional at Andrews.

CASA has copies of the book, The Connected Child to provide to our volunteers. This book is a wonderful overview of TBRI for parents and caregivers. Let us know if you would like a copy.
